A recap during a course works as a milestone telling what has been done and what needs to be done further.
We met again on April 15th and discussed the QR code and the definition of data in a digital context.
The points we covered during the meeting are as follows:
- Brief review of the last meeting
- Review quiz: Which component of my smartphone works like human eyes?
- Introduction of the QR code (Quick Response Code)
- Search and install a QR code scanner
- Scan various QR codes in newspapers and on the FICUS blog
- Demonstrate a QR code generator
- Simulate data and data transmission with grains, a pipe, and cookie cutters.
I personally believe that the success of the QR code depends on its features. The small white and black squares are simple, beautiful, and functional. It's simple to use as you only need to scan it using your smartphone camera. It looks modern and aesthetic, consisting of tiny bicolour squares. Lastly and importantly, it meets its intended purpose fully. We may need to remember the above three points together as a success factor!
When installing a QR code scanner from Google Playstore, we discussed how to identify appropriate apps. Remember that not all apps on Google Playstore are workable and free. It's better to remember three things as below:
Firstly, don't forget that cost-free programs almost always contain advertisements, which can not be care-free all the time. It's a very common rule of Give and Take. Secondly, check the number of downloads. What many people frequently decide to use may be good things. The last thing to consider is critical. Learn to remove apps from your smartphone to keep your phone light and healthy.
Finally, I'm happy to inform you about what we will talk about. Is there anyone who wants to learn what to do with smartphone photos? We enjoy taking pictures since we got our smartphones. The photos take up a lot of phone memory, and our phones are getting slower. I will suggest several options to work with them because people can choose suitable methods as they want. A good rule of thumb is to tidy up instead of messy bulk.
So join us at 9 am on May 13th, 2023, at Franziskussaal of the Monastery Rein. See you soon!
